n an effort to combat illegal fishing and promote sustainable fishing practices, the Consul of the Republic of Tunisia in Naples has partnered with the Surefish project. The Surefish project, which is funded by the European Union, works to improve traceability in the fishing industry and prevent illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The partnership was announced at a press conference held at the Tunisian Consulate in Naples on Tuesday. Speaking at the event, the Consul of the Republic of Tunisia in Naples praised the Surefish project for its innovative approach to promoting sustainable fishing practices and emphasized the importance of cooperation between countries in the fight against illegal fishing.

The Surefish project will work with Tunisian fishing vessels to improve traceability and promote sustainable fishing practices. Through the use of cutting-edge technology, including electronic monitoring and tracking systems, the project aims to ensure that all fish caught by Tunisian vessels are fully traceable from catch to plate.
